Fall Festival At Lincoln Elementary School
The Lincoln special education students had the chance to experience a fall celebration at school on October 28th. The students rotated to three game stations; a ring toss, cornhole, and bowling. These games encouraged teamwork, communication and fine motor skills. Students exercised their language skills by following directions and communicating their needs and wants to their teachers and peers. Lincoln general education buddy room students assisted and made the event even more meaningful. Classes also went to a pumpkin patch where they chose a pumpkin to take back to their classroom to carve. Cleaning out the pumpkins provided our special education students with tactile and sensory experiences. Later in the day all the students participated in a parade showing off their favorite book character costumes. This is one of Lincoln’s many inclusion activities throughout the year with activities that help to develop emotional and social well-being for all students. The materials needed for these activities were donated by generous local community businesses and staff members.
